What it is
Action Plans let you, as a leader, create and track development, improvement, or project plans for your team members, all inside StarMeUp. Instead of scattered spreadsheets and emails, you get a single space to define goals, tasks, and dates, and follow progress together with the collaborator.
The module only appears if your community has it enabled. There are three plan types: Development, Project, and Improvement. Your community may have some or all of them active.
Who can use it
Leaders: create, edit, track, close, and delete their team's plans.
Collaborators: view their own plans, update task progress, and leave comments.
The leader panel
Go to My Team and open the Action Plans tab. There you see your team's plans at a glance: statistics per plan type, the number of overdue plans, combinable filters (Pending, Improvement Plan, Development Plan, Project Plan, Completed/Successful, Completed/Not Successful, Overdue), and a table with the person, plan name, type, status, dates, and the actions menu. If there are no plans yet, you'll see an empty state inviting you to create the first one.
How to create an action plan
The form is a single page with 4 numbered sections.
On the panel, click Create Action Plan.
Choose the collaborator: search by name (from 2 characters) among your direct and secondary reports. Once selected, the side Talent Card shows their profile.
Choose the plan type: only the types active in your community appear as cards.
Fill in the details: name, start date, and end date. Improvement asks for an improvement area and an expectation; Development and Project ask for a description. In all cases you can add examples (optional).
Add tasks (optional): up to 20, each with a title, a due date within the plan's range, and an owner (leader or collaborator).
Once the required fields are complete, click Create and confirm in the prompt.
After you confirm, the plan is saved, you return to the panel, and you see a success notification.
Plan states
The state is calculated automatically, based on the dates and whether the plan was closed:
Pending: the start date hasn't arrived yet.
In Progress: today's date is within the plan's range.
Overdue: the end date has passed and the plan wasn't closed.
Completed/Successful or Completed/Not Successful: the plan was closed with that assessment.
How to update progress
Both the leader and the collaborator can record progress at any time.
In the table, open the plan's three-dot menu and choose Update Progress.
Move the progress bar (0–100%) on each task; progress saves instantly.
In Comments, write an observation and send it with the send icon.
How to edit or delete a plan
From the three-dot menu, for pending, in progress, or overdue plans you can Edit or Delete. Closed plans only allow View Detail. Tasks are added, edited, or deleted only from Edit, not from the progress screen.
How to close a plan
Closing a plan is a leader action; the collaborator doesn't see it.
Go to the plan's Update Progress screen.
Click Close Plan.
Write a closing comment and indicate whether the plan was successful (Yes / No).
Click Save and confirm the closure.
The collaborator view
Collaborators see Action Plans in their sidebar menu (if the module is enabled). From there they access their plans, see who created each one, update task progress, and leave comments. They can't create, edit, delete, or close plans.
Good to know
There's no limit on active plans per collaborator.
The plan name allows up to 300 characters; rich text fields (description, expectation, examples) up to 5000.
All dates use the DD/MM/YYYY format.
If a plan type is deactivated, existing plans of that type remain visible and manageable, but you can't create new ones of that type.
Frequently asked questions

Can I edit or delete a comment once posted? In this version, comments can't be edited or deleted from the interface.
