Levels of Participation

Levels

The storytelling of the levels in StarMeUp is based on The Hero's Journey, a theory created by Joseph Campbell. Five levels that aim to reflect the cultural journey of each user within their community.

  • Embarking: You have received a call to adventure. Dare to transform your community. You have all the potential!

  • Rising: You are on the path to transformation. Your participation visibly impacts the community.

  • Shining: Your strength illuminates the community. Your interactions make a difference.

  • Hero: Your power makes our community more empathetic and humane. You are pure inspiration!

  • Legend: Your DNA transforms our community. You motivate. You empower. Your strength is legendary!

Calculation and frequency

The levels are calculated weekly and take into account each user's activity in the last 30 days, considering different actions with varying importance weights. This process allows us to determine a participation ranking and assign the corresponding level.

We aim to make the cultural journey of each user dynamic. While the initial levels are easily attainable, levels four and five can only be maintained with a high level of participation. This approach enables new users to easily progress within StarMeUp while also encouraging long-standing users to maintain their interactions and not rest on their laurels. The objective is to cultivate a sense of belonging while fostering a virtuous cycle of positive interactions within each community.

  • Only the top 10% of users with the highest participation will reach level 5, the next 20% will attain level 4, and so on.

  • Users who did not score any participation points, meaning they did not interact in StarMeUp in the last 30 days, may either descend to a lower level or remain at level 1.
