What is a 1:1?

Our 1:1 feature is designed to help create a safe space for meaningful conversations between leaders and direct reports.

Intro

Our 1:1 feature is designed to help create a safe space for meaningful conversations between leaders and direct reports. It not only improves communication and enables active listening, but it also helps foster a culture of trust and a sense of allyship. Professional development and performance is also positively impacted, as action items can be identified and implemented after each conversation.

Keep in mind that the availability of StarMeUp’s 1:1 functionality depends on your role in the organization, and on whether your organization has the 1:1 feature enabled for everyone.

Creating a New 1:1 Meeting

When it comes to 1:1 meetings, cadence is key. Meetings should be regular and scheduled in advance. To create a new 1:1 meeting, just follow these simple steps:

1. You can access the 1:1 section from the sidebar, from your profile, or from the profile of a direct report. Once there, you can create a new meeting.

2. Once you are in the ‘create’ section, select the individual you would like to meet with, and choose the day and time of the meeting.

3. You can either create a single meeting, or a recurring one. In the case of the latter, you can choose the desired frequency of the meeting (weekly, biweekly, or monthly). Once created, the selected individual will be notified about the meeting.

Once the meeting has been set, you will have the option of creating a shared agenda and start crafting talking points.

If by any chance you are not given the option of creating a 1:1 meeting with an individual on your team, please contact your platform admin. They will be able to check whether leadership relationships are up to date and enable this feature for desired users.
