To generate a survey you should follow these steps:
Step 1: Access from Admin
From Admin, go to StarMeUp and then to Polls. Click on Go to Surveys - there, you will see a list with all the draft, active and completed surveys. Click New Survey.
REMEMBER
To access this section, you must have an Admin role for surveys, which can be assigned from Roles and Permissions within the Users section of the Admin OS. To find out how to assign an administrator role click here.
Step 2: Complete the general information
You will be redirected to the survey creation screen. First, define the general information of the survey:
Name: Internal name to identify the survey in the list of questionnaires within the Admin. Maximum 100 characters.
Title: Name of the survey that will be visible to the destined users. Maximum 100 characters.
Background color: Color given to the survey.
Description: Description of the survey. Maximum 700 characters.
REMINDER

Step 3: Set a Language
Set the main language for the survey and languages for translations (if needed).
Step 4: Define the audience
Determine who will receive the survey. You can select existing channels or segments so that the survey is sent only to the people you consider relevant. Each selected channel or segment will indicate the number of people belonging to it.
Based on the selected channels and segments, you can see the approximate number of people who will receive the survey.
IMPORTANT
If a user belongs to more than one of the selected channels or segments, they will be counted as two different people.
You can click on edit channels or edit segments to enter the corresponding section of the Admin and make changes in your survey.
You can also keep the survey private. This means that respondents' personal information will not be seen in the results.
Finally, you can enable the option to share the survey link. This way, any user with access to the link can complete the survey despite not being within the selected channels or segments.
DID YOU KNOW…?
The difference between channels and segments is simple. In the channels you can determine which people belong to the group. In the segments, however, you cannot choose the members, but you can make the group according to different criteria from the database, such as location, project or role.

Step 5: Define receivers of the results
Select who will see the results of the surveys.
Determine the criteria for grouping the results and the attributes of the users who will receive this information. Receivers will only have access to the results of the group they are part of once the survey period ends.
TIP
Make sure to keep your database complete and up-to-date.
Step 6: Set a Date
Set a start and end date for your survey.
Once you've set the dates, click on Configure Questions.
Step 7: Create the Questions
In this section you can generate the questions for the questionnaire in the main language and in the languages for translations.
To change the language, click under Language Version and select the desired language.
If you do not complete all the translations of the questions you will see this message:
Once the translations are finished you will see the following message:
IMPORTANT
If the translations are incomplete when the survey is published, the question will appear in its original language.
There are 4 types of questions:
List of options
Emoji
Paragraph
Images
TIP
You can click on the generated questions and drag them across the screen to sort them.
List of Options
This type of question enables several options for the user ‘s choice. It has the following elements:
Title: Maximum 400 characters.
Options: The alternatives that the user can choose.
Toggle Multiple Choice: Allows users to select more than one option.
Toggle Required: Makes the user answer the question in order to complete the survey.
Emoji
This type of question allows users to answer with an emoji to express their opinion. It has the following elements:
Title: Maximum 400 characters.
Options: The emojis that the user can choose.
Toggle Multiple Choice: Allows users to select more than one option.
Toggle Required: Makes the user answer the question in order to complete the survey.
Paragraph
This type of question allows users to write their own answer (maximum 1,200 characters) It has the following elements:
Title: Maximum 400 caracteres.
Toggle Required: Makes the user answer the question in order to complete the survey.
Images
This type of question allows users to select an image to answer. It has the following elements:
Title: Maximum 400 caracteres.
Images: The images that the user can choose.
Toggle Multiple Choice: Allows users to select more than one option.
Toggle Required: Makes the user answer the question in order to complete the survey.
Linked questions
Linked questions can only be generated from List of Options or Emoticons types, and they can be linked to any of the answers given by respondents. That is, if someone chooses option A, they will be redirected to the question linked to option A. If someone chooses option B, they will be redirected to the question linked to option B, and so on. To create a linked question you just have to click on Action.
The linked question can be any of the 4 question types (Option List, Emoticons, Paragraph or Images).
IMPORTANT
You can copy or delete any question from the corresponding action buttons.
Once you finish assembling the questions, click on Finish Edition. The new survey will automatically appear in the Admin questionnaire list.
