In today's digital age, safeguarding user privacy and personal data is a fundamental priority for any online platform. In this regard, StarMeUp has a crucial functionality to ensure it: "Delete User Data."
When activated, all personal and demographic data stored by the platform is replaced by the word "Anonymous." Additionally, this feature also deletes their profile picture. Most importantly, this action is not reversible, so once it is performed, there is no turning back.
After this process is completed, the user's presence on StarMeUp changes dramatically. The user will no longer appear in any search within the platform, not even from the administration. This ensures that their personal data is not accessible to other users or administrators. Furthermore, the user will no longer be able to access the platform.
It is important to note that, although personal data is deleted, recognitions sent by this person will still be visible on the platform. However, these recognitions will appear as sent by "Anonymous" instead of displaying the name of the deleted user.
When should this function be used?
We recommend using the "Delete User Data" functionality in specific situations when users explicitly request that their data be deleted from StarMeUp.
If you want to restrict a user's access to the platform, you should use the option to deactivate the user, located in the user panel under the "Status" column. This action is reversible, and when you want to grant access again, you can reactivate it.
How to delete a user's data?
This option is visible in the "User Management" section --> "All Users." Click on the edit pencil icon.
On the user's page, click the "Delete User Data" button.
In the confirmation modal, click "Accept," and the process will be completed.
